Why get a Beret?

Anyone wishing to represent a soldier of the Spanish Civil War must have a beret - as nearly every account I have read of International Brigadistas includes the story of how they bought a beret on arriving in Spain.

What kind of beret is appropriate?

There are many types of beret available, but you can go little wrong in getting a 'Basque beret' in Black.

A few Retailers Of Berets

Confecciones La Bayonesa

ZARAGOZA

Avda. César Augusto, 74, Zaragoza

A very helpful shop (English speaking) selling the Elosegui brand beret. Not far from the central market and 15 minutes from the cathedral.

Boinas Elosegui

Spain

Various berets available on line at www.boinaselosegui.com

If anyone else knows of any other suppliers please email me at berets@{nospam}lacolumna.org.uk and I will add them to this page.

You will need to delete {nospam} from the email address

Thanks to Juan at ¡Ay,Carmela! for the El Lobo info
