Various
types of leather jackets were popular amongst Republican troops and International
Brigaders (especially officers) throughout the Spanish Civil War.
These
varied in design between three quarter length double breasted 'flying
jackets' to shorter zip up jackets. These jackets were also popular
amongst anti-Fascist militia too: Carl
Marzini, an American volunteer in the Anarchist Durruti column in late
1936, states in his memoir, " Of course you could tell an anarchist
anywhere, because all anarchists dressed the same way. They all had leather
jackets, or at least if they could get them, that's what they would wear

are some examples of original photos and some modern suppliers of
some reproduction jackets suitable for the SCW reenactor: |
