La Columna is a small but ever growing group always keen to recruit new members; if you would like to join there are three types of membership available:
'Camaradas' (full member Aged 24 and over) |
'Camarada' membership (Spanish for Comrade) is either family (including dependants up to the age of 18) or individual membership for those intending to take part in the groups re-enactment activities. Camaradas also receive the group newsletter: 'News from The Front'. Membership runs from 1 January to 31 December. The annual fee for both families and individuals is £20.00 for new members, renewals for existing members is £17.50 Camaradas must be aged 16 or over (unaccompanied Camaradas aged 16 or 17 must produce written parental/guardian consent to become a member). More detailed description of membership is available on request. |
'Juventud' (full member Aged 16 -23) |

These have
the same member rights as a 'Camaradas' and is individual membership for
those aged 16-23. In 2007 |
'Compañeros' (Friend of La Columna) |
'Compañero' (spanish for friend) is an individual or family membership for those who do not wish to take part in La Columna's reenactment activities but wish to support the group in other ways. Compañeros may not vote at any meeting but receive the group newsletter and are welcome at social events. The annual membership fee for individual or family Compañeros is £5. Compañeros can be any age. |
Special Veterans life membership |
Any anti-fascist veteran of the Spanish Civil War is entitled to life membership of La Columna. They will be sent a copy of the group Newsletter 'News from The Front' and are always welcome at any La Columna event as our very special guests. There is no annual fee. |
